Membership

Dues paid by member agencies enable VALCPA to continue to play a significant role in maintaining and enhancing the services provided to families and children throughout the State of Virginia. The VALCPA committee works hard to ensure that your agency is well informed of proposed State policy and legislation changes that may affect Child Placing Agencies. Dues also assist with the cost of VALCPA’s Annual Dues for VCOPPA (Virginia Coalition of Private Placing Agencies) membership. It is important that we continue to assume an advocacy role in promoting policies and legislation to benefit families and children and the agencies that serve them.

VALCPA sponsors an annual conference, usually in Virginia Beach. The conference will include presenters and workshops designed to address relevant clinical, supervision and administrative issues. The Adoption and Foster Care Committees meet during the conference. These committee meetings provide members with an opportunity to network and discuss important issues specific to adoption and foster care.

With budget cuts continuing throughout Virginia and across the nation, our association is sure to be an important voice and advocate, helping maintain quality services to children and families throughout Virginia.
